Glacier – Dog

Tuesday

We have a new temporary addition to the family. We’re fostering Glacier, a Siberian Husky mix. Karen from the Free Spirit Siberian Husky Rescue (huskyrescue.org) dropped him of tonight. White coat, blue eyes and a real sweetie. Glacier is about 2 years old and has spent most of his life at the rescue shelter. He is described as a high energy dog who may or may not be partially deaf. I don’t think he’s deaf, he just hasn’t learned that it pays to listen to a human voice. But he’s definitely high energy. We’re keeping him on the leash for now in the house.  We’ll see how the first night in his new home goes…

Wednesday - Morning

Well, that was a good night of howling and scratching on the floor of the crate. Glacier is a very vocal guy. He has a broad range of sounds he can make. He wasn’t overly happy to be crated for the night but he made it through.

Glacier isn’t house-broken yet but so far we only had one accident. Trying to learn his signals when he needs to go out.

He went on his first long run. Good exercise makes for a happy dog! Janice says he’s a dream of a running dog.
