Vive le Tour

Watching a live stage of the Tour de France is awesome, especially when it’s a mountain stage. Here’s what you need to do

  • Stay in a nice place in a little mountain village.
  • Get up early and drive up the mountain before they close the roads.
  • Secure a good spot to park and set up for the day. (find neighbors with a camper and a large canopy in case it rains cats and dogs)
  • Bring wine, bread and cheese.
  • Wait 6 hours for the riders to go by within 20 minutes
  • Drive 2 hours down the mountain
  • Never, under any circumstances, forget it’s your wife’s birthday.
  • Col de Platzerwasel

Guaranteed recipe for a great time!

The next day we watch the start of the 14th stage in Colmar. Great atmosphere, beautiful wheather. I can only recommend this to soak up the TDF feeling.
